Te Pūaotanga marks the first Toi Māori exhibition presented by Tātai Manawa and curated by Frances Piacun.

Inspired by the first light that reveals the landscape, the exhibition celebrates Māori creativity emerging into view not as something newly formed, but as something that has long been growing, evolving and taking shape.

Bringing together established and emerging Māori artists, Te Pūaotanga offers a space to gather, connect and experience the diverse voices, stories and creative practices of Māori artists across Aotearoa.

 

He whakanui tēnei i te mana auaha ki konei, kua tuku iho mai rā anō, ā, e puta mai nei ki te ao mārama.

This is a celebration of what is here, what has always been here, and what is now coming into the light.
